I’m Laura
Hello,
Hello I’m Laura, a South West wedding photographer with a warm, vibrant style and documentary approach. Beautiful natural light, colour and atmosphere make me very happy.
A word about how I got into wedding photography in the South West – although photography was always a large part of my life growing up, I actually studied Law at Exeter University. Four years later, upon graduating, I decided to (just slightly) change my life trajectory and take the plunge to pursue wedding photography. Niche and slightly off the beaten track I know, but having grown up in a wedding venue, I’ve always been drawn to the euphoric happiness and joy of weddings. Come the end of university, the idea of combining this with photography made me pretty excited.
My training took me to Paris, where I studied photography at Spéos international photography school. Ever since then, I’ve been based down in Devon as a South West wedding photographer and I’ve been lucky enough to have captured weddings as a documentary wedding photographer in the UK, France and New Zealand to name a few – I’ve got some in my portfolio if you’re interested.

Beautiful, Unstaged Stories
The photos that we love, the ones which really mean something, are the ones which speak to memories filled with honest stories and genuine connections.
Memories that bring it all back, as if it were just yesterday.
It’s for this that my approach as a South West wedding photographer will always be centred around storytelling, doing justice to what really matters.

I grew up in a wedding venue
It’s true that this could only go one way or the other – either I was going to end up with a career in the wedding industry or running far from it!
As someone who loves happy celebrations and meeting new people, it was slightly inevitable that I would end up here in the end though, and so here I am as a wedding photographer in Devon! Yes I have seen quite a bit in my time too if you’re wondering – a lot can happen at a wedding…

I was born in New Zealand
With close family in both England and NZ (yes literally as spread out across the globe as possible – it’s a 24 hour flight), I’ve been between the two countries for much of my life. Unsurprisingly, this has given me a huge love for travel and inspired my work as a destination wedding photographer.

I’m Slightly Obsessed with Travelling
If you haven’t already gathered, travelling and exploring new places is one of my absolute favourite things to do. Having grown up in New Zealand surrounded by water on all sides, I’ve always found the idea of going to another country just for the day quite incredible.
So, the last few years have been all about making up for the lost time and going on as many European weekend getaways as I can justify! Whether it’s photographing a chateau wedding near Toulouse, a road trip around quaint French villages (the Luberon area in Provence would absolutely be my recommendation) or trekking up to the top of a hill for sunset, I will very much be there for it all.

BUILDING A NARRATIVE
As an avid observer of the colour and beauty around me, I seek to bring the aesthetics of the world together as organically as possible.

BUILDING A NARRATIVE
HONEST STORIES | GENUINE CONNECTIONS | WARMTH
As an avid observer of all the colour and emotion around me, photography has always been the perfect outlet to bring the aesthetics of the world together in a way which resonates with human experience. I’ve always gravitated towards images which show the depth and meaning of our relationships and this is exactly what I seek to showcase as a documentary South West wedding photographer. At the centre of it all will always be the honest stories and genuine connections which make up our lives.
