The Grain Store Wedding
The Grain Store, Devon, UK | Annie & Stu
This would have to go down as one of my most favourite wedding locations, with Annie and Stu quite perfectly pulling off the dream of saying their vows in the open air by the sea! Despite the weather threatening wind and rain for much of the day, they had the most glorious blue sky pull through for the ceremony, which just added to the experience.
Both Annie and Stu got ready in the farmhouse at The Grain Store. Stu and his groomsmen then poured themselves a pint straight from the barrel, which was quite fitting for the barn setting which most of their day entailed. One of the things that makes The Grain Store so unique is the walk through forest and fields to get to the ceremony location on a raised grassy clearing, just by the sea – quite the experience!
The outdoor ceremony was characterised by smiles, laughter and lots of wind (the mother of the bride’s hat may have even flown off mid ceremony!). Group photos and a few couple shots then followed on the beach. It was such a quintessentially British summer seaside scene with guests skimming stones (and one even being brave enough to swim in July!) and it definitely reminded me of the movie About Time if anyone’s seen it. The rest of the day involved the wedding breakfast, speeches and dancing in the atmospheric barn at The Grain Store. From start to end, it was a pretty memorable day by the sea.
